Educator, Artist, and Community Leader
Looking to foster
a brave space for critical thought and knowledge
development.

This is me
My name is Stephanie Rodrigues de Sousa and I am currently enrolled in the Masters of Teaching program at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. Over the past year and a half, I have been teaching and coordinating at a private secondary school as a teacher and would like to adhere to my passion for teaching within the public school board system. I want to substantiate my experience by learning the foundations, contemporaneous practices, and methodologies in education.

I encourage students to challenge themselves and what they know.
I believe community and discussion are two key elements in any learning environment. Students' can develop and learn more about others and understand themselves in the process. Critical thinkers can create change. If students are given the tools to engage in critical thinking and reflection, alongside a robust knowledge in an array of subject matter, life long academic and personal development will be bound to occur. If you reached this point you must. have passed the list of teaching strategies I use within the classroom to engage this form of critical thought with students in Visual Arts and English. I feel I am a Community Facilitator just as much as an Educator.
Thank you for reading :)
